Oh Snap Who Has A Green Thumb?!?!

I love a challenge and growing a garden seemed like a big one for this girl from the desert! I went to my normal sources for some direction, my mom, husband, and brother-in-law (who grows anything eatable...oranges, chillies, tomatoes, onions and on and on). It all seemed simple enough and surprisingly so far it has been.
I started my adventure one Sunday evening at a local Wal-Mart. I bought a handful of 20¢ seeds and a greenhouse kit that runs about $6.50. Everything went smoothly & it took me about an hour to soak and plant my seeds in the little greenhouse.

About 3 days later I started to see green!!!! It was that simple plant, water, and watch! I followed the directions carefully and about a week later my seeds had turned into plants. Now the hardest part was waiting until what is called the "true leaves" came out in order to transplant my babies into the ground. Once I saw green I wanted to planted them but I needed to wait so they would survive. A true leaf is easy to spot, your little stems split in two and a third leaf comes out from right in the middle, these are "true leaves". I bought top soil and one bag of Miraclegro veggie soil and planted them.

Now the only issues I had were, one it's not the time of year for cauliflower so those didn't even get put into the ground. Second my cats love to nap in the garden and well my cats are fat so you can imagine my poor baby plants. Third I planted right in Daisy's shortcut to the open field we play in.....a few plants were trampled in the learning of going around the garden...but all is well and I will post pictures of my first harvest as soon as it happens!
